ELECTROLYSIS HAIR REMOVAL
Electrolysis is an efficient way to remove hairs from the body and face. The chemicals and heat energy used in the process of electrolysis, destroys the center of the root of hair growth. An extremely fine probe is instilled in the hair follicle on the skin surface, following which the hair is pulled out by tweezers. Electrolysis hair removal treatment holds a successful track record in removing hair permanently.

FAQ
HOW DOES IT WORK?
A professional Electrologist skillfully inserts a sterile, disposable, micro fine electrolysis probe alongside the hair shaft within the hair follicle. A small amount of heat energy is then very briefly applied through this miniscule electrolysis probe, which deactivates the hair root, dermal papilla, and hair germinating cells, without harming the surface skin.
IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?
No, but it can be uncomfortable for some. During your electrolysis treatment a tiny sterile needle is inserted into your hair follicles, then an electrical charge (micro-current) is released which heats up causing a slight tingle or stinging sensation.Virtually any area, apart from the inside of the nose and inner ear, however, the rim of the ear can be safely treated.
IS IT PERMANENT?
Yes, with electrolysis hair removal, the hairs are removed permanently with your safety maintained throughout the process. It can work effectively on every skin tone with any type of hair growth. It directly targets the root of hair follicle, restricting any regrowth in the treated area. The areas that can be treated with this successful method involves, chin, eyebrows, upper and lower lip, face sides, jaw line, underarms, bikini line, breasts, abdomen, toes and fingers, back and legs.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of sessions required depends on a number of factors such as the individual and the areas of concern. At your first consultation or treatment, your therapist will have a better understanding and be able to advise in more detail.
AFTERCARE
It is vital that you ensure that you keep the treated area meticulously clean and dry for the first 48 hours post treatment. It is important to take extra care of the treated area, especially within the first 48 hours of treatment. This will give the skin a chance to settle, allow the heat reaction in the skin to return to normal and prevent infection of the treated open follicles.
AFTER TREATMENT YOU MAY EXPERIENCE
- Redness, swelling and sensitivity of the skin in the area which has been treated up to 48
hours - The treated area and surrounding skin may feel hot for up to 48 hours
- Pin dot crusting or small scabs may appear within the treated area
- The skin may itch as the healing process takes place
POINTS TO REMEMBER FOR 48 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT
Aloe Vera gel (available for retail) should be applied liberally using clean, damp cotton wool immediately after electrolysis to soothe, calm redness and prevent infection. Continue applying Aloe Vera gel for the next 21 days.
To prevent irritation and the spread of infection, do not pick spots or small blood scabs which may appear a couple of days after treatment and depending on the skin, may take between 7–21 days to heal. Fine blood scabs are a normal post reaction response to the treatment, especially in the initial stages of having electrolysis. The fine blood scabs develop by the dry cauterized blood in the base of
the follicle rising up through the follicle. Do not pick the area at all. For clients who have long hair, to reduce the risk of infected follicles, keep hair tied back off the face.
THINGS TO AVOID:
- Avoid touching the treated area and do not pick any scabs that may form.
- Avoid self tans or fake tans as these can cause irritation to the skin, also avoid perfumes, and
perfumed body lotions. - Avoid direct sunlight, or sun bed treatment. If you must go out in the sun, use a high
protection factor sunscreen of at least SPF 30 to avoid hyper pigmentation, especially on
yellow based, Black and Asian skin types. Re apply in the middle of the day. UVA and UVB
can cause pigmentation marks to appear on the treated area and wearing our SPF 30 will
help to reduce this quicker, developing an even skin tone faster. - Avoid saunas, sun beds, jacuzzis and steam treatments as these can also cause pigmentation
to develop. - Avoid hot baths, showers, swimming, applying make-up to the treated area, applying soap or
perfumed products to the treated area, - Avoid activities for 48 hours that stimulate blood flow following treatment.
- Avoid wearing tight or restricted clothing over treated body areas.

FAQ
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Advanced Electrolysis is a treatment that uses a Thermolysis current and a very fine needle to either cauterise or lift away the superficial epidermis, depending on the type of blemish that is being treated.
WHAT CONCERNS CAN BE TREATED?
Advanced Electrolysis Treatments include: Skin Tags, Millia, Thread Veins and Spider Nevus
Thread Veins and Spider Nevus: Fading begins about three weeks after treatment, with the broken capillaries beginning to disappear. Typically up to three treatments may be required, although there may be a noticeable difference after just one treatment.
Skin Tags: These small blemishes are cauterised and removed instantly, with small red marks or scabbing appearing after treatment. These will disappear after 7-10 days.
Milia: The current cauterises the blemish and the milia is reabsorbed back into the skin. Results can start to show up to a month after treatment.
IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Electrolysis clients generally describe the treatment as mildly uncomfortable, with a warm stinging sensation which they find to be easily tolerable.
