Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS THE TREATMENT PROCESS?
To create the Length Volume Lift effect, your lash artist will apply Nouveaus lash-health first products followed by applying the appropriate shape shield to your eyelid and pressing your lashes against it using a bonding gel.
Step 1. Lift
With all the lashes neatly bonded, a lifting balm is then applied which allows the structure and shape of your lashes to change and be lifted at the root
Step 2. Volumise
Once this has been removed, a 2-in-1 volumising fix and tint is applied, sealing your lashes into their new shape and adding volume and definition.
Step 3. Balance
A pH balancing serum is applied to the lashes, strengthening from within and coating from the outside to help protect, increase shine and prevent over-processing.
Step 4. Moisturise
Finally, a moisturising serum is applied to nourish the lashes, help lock in tint colour and ease them off the shield, revealing beautifully healthy, lifted lashes. Enriched with a film former, it helps to instantly hold the new curl while your lashes are still settling into place.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

No, an LVL Lash Lift is a pain free, low maintenance treatment but if you feel any discomfort during your appointment please let us know.

PRECARE
24 hours prior to your treatment
- Do not wear water-proof mascara (and preferably no mascara at all)
- Do not use oil based eye makeup remover
- If you have had a spray tan, ensure the guide colour is washed off
On the day of your treatment
- Do not wear mascara
- Do not have a spray tan
- Do not apply oily products on your lashes or around your eyes
- Contact lenses must be removed prior to the treatment – for this reason I recommend wearing glasses.
AFTERCARE
Aftercare is a very important part of your treatment to optimise results and care for your natural lashes. Your lash artist will always advise you on aftercare after your treatment but if you have any concerns or questions please get in touch.
For the first 48 hours after your treatment it is vital that you avoid the following to allow your lashes to lock into place;
- Don’t get your lashes wet, this can cause the lift to drop
- Avoid steam, saunas and swimming
- Avoid going to the gym or heavy exercising
- Avoid direct sunlight / UV light (especially if you’ve had tint applied)
- Avoid touching and rubbing your face especially when washing or cleansing
- Avoid sleeping on your front or side so your lashes don’t get disturbed
- Don’t use lash curlers as these can be harsh on your natural lashes
- Avoid any oil-based make up or remover
- Don’t apply mascara
Can I reapply tint to my lashes?
If you want to top up your tint to keep them looking fresh, simply book a stand alone tint appointment after 4 weeks.
What make up can I wear with LVL Lashes?
You don’t need to wear mascara with an LVL, since the treatment tints and colours your upper and lower natural lashes to make them look longer and thicker. However if you still want to wear mascara to enhance your look further, make sure you don’t overload your lashes to avoid pulling the curl down.
How do I remove an LVL Lash Lift?
An LVL lash lift and lower LVL treatment can’t be removed, as they’re both semi-permanents treatment for your natural lashes. Instead, the lash lift will grow out naturally. The tint and curl can last up to 8 weeks, depending on your lash cycle but please note, everyone’s lashes are different and results may vary.

What is the treatment process?
Consultation
From brushed up brows to neat and defined, choosing the right brow look can be difficult. That’s why every HD Brows treatment starts with a consultation where our Stylists help you based on your face shape, skin tone and of course, your style.
Tinting
Unlike a regular eyebrow tint, we’ll apply the tint around the brow to pick up those fair and fluffy hairs you didn’t even realise where there. We custom-blend our bespoke HD Brow Dyes to create the perfect tone to complement your skin tone, hair tone and overall style.
Waxing
Your stylist will begin to create your dream eyebrow shape through waxing, using our exclusive design formula. They’ll keep in mind any areas where you may want to re-grow hair, working towards your long-term brow goals.
Threading
Next, your stylist will create a smooth, neat finish with threading. In the HD Brows treatment, we use threading to remove any fluffy hairs above and below the brow to ensure there’s no tell-tale signs of waxing.
Tweezing and finishing
We’re perfectionists, so this is where we work to make those fresh brows even fresher. If necessary, your stylist will tweeze any stray hairs, trim unruly hairs down and create a finish that suits your style using our brow make up range
How long do HD Brows last?
The effects of the treatment usually last around 4-6 weeks, however this can vary depending on your hair growth. After your first few treatments your stylist will be able to recommend how often you should be having the treatment done.
How long does HD brows treatment take?
The HD Brows treatment usually takes around 30-45 minutes, but this will depend on your brows and goals.
What are the benefits of the treatment?
All HD Brow services provide a bespoke treatment that is tailored for each individual client. These services give a much more manicured and designed finish to the brow compared to a standard brow shape and tint. HD Brow services can help to encourage sparse brows to grow back thicker for a fuller brow look and came tame unruly brow hairs for a neater finish
Is HD Brows semi-permanent?
The treatment is not classed as semi-permanent, however we do use permanent tint on the brows during the treatment. The lasting effects of this vary depending on skin type, hair growth and skin care routine. Results of the HD Brows treatment typically last around 4-6 weeks.
Do I need a patch test?
You will be required to carry out a tint patch test prior to your first appointment with your Stylist. You will only need to re-take the patch test if there is a six month break between treatments, or you have changes to your medical history.
Am I suitable for HD Brows?
This treatment is most suited for those that want fuller, more defined brows. It is the perfect treatment as a regrowth programme or anyone looking for a statement brow. You should not be put off by thinking that this is only for a bold look. The treatment is fully customisable to achieve even a simple, tidy finish.
We recommend coming in for a one on one consultation where one of our stylists will be able to advise the best course of action for your brows, provide you with a patch test and arrange an appointment.
However, please note there are some contraindications that can make you unsuitable for HD Brows.
We will not be able to carry out your treatment if you have any of the following;
- Diseases or disorders of the skin around the brow area such as Psoriasis, Eczema & Dermatitis
- Contagious eye and skin infections such as: Stye, Conjunctivitis, Cold sores, Folliculitis
- Cuts, recent scar tissue, abrasions, lumps or swelling around the brow area
- Allergy to tint or products
- Hypersensitivity
- Contagious diseases
Treatment is not advised if any of the following apply to you;
Thin skin – during waxing a fine layer of dead skin cells are removed. When a client has thin skin this can cause problems during hair removal. As they are more prone to tearing and bruising. Thin skin can be due to natural causes or for reasons such as medication, creams and skin treatments.
- Chemotherapy makes the skin thinner for up to 18 months.
- Skin peels including Glycolic, AHA re surface the skin making it prone to grazing
- Microdermabrasion
- Anti-ageing creams containing Retinol
- Acne medication: Roaccutane, Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid.
When enquiring about HD Brows please inform us of whether you suffer or think you may suffer from thin skin.
Can I have the HD Brows treatment if I am pregnant or breast-feeding?
We know you mum’s-to-be want to keep your brows in check, but due to the ingredients used in the tint we will not be able to carry out the tinting stage during your treatment, as a reaction from the tint is more likely to occur due to hormonal changes. If a reaction did occur, a pregnant client would be unable to take medication as this may harm the baby.
Can I have the tint if I sign some sort of consent form?
No, your HD Brows Stylist is a trained professional and they are obligated to adhere to manufacturer’s guidelines, they cannot go against them even with consent from the customer. Remember this is for your safety. However your stylists will be able to recommend products to use to recreate that freshly tinted look at home, without the risk.
Is there an age restriction to get HD Brows?
Due to EU law, you can’t have your brows tinted under the age of 16. However, don’t worry, you can still have the treatment done from the age of 13 (with parental consent, of course) however we would just need to skip the tinting stage.
Do I still have to do a patch test if I’m not being tinted?
No, although this is usually a mandatory step for HD Brows, you do not have do a patch test if you’re not being tinted.
I’ve been using a sun bed and/or fake tan – can I still have the treatment?
Step away from the sunbeds and put the tan down! It is recommended that clients avoid high sun exposure for 48-hours before and after the treatment. This is to reduce the risk of reactions, soreness and dry/cracked skin. If mixed with tanning products (including tinted moisturiser) the tint will turn green, so we do not advise the use of tanning products prior to treatment.
I have sparse or overplucked brows; can I still get HD Brows?
Unfortunately we can’t actually make your eyebrows permanently thicker during a single treatment, as neither our stylists or HD Brows are magicians! If you have heavily overplucked in the past, have naturally thin and sparse brows, or are lacking in the brow department for any other reason, please do not expect to leave the clinic after your first HD Brow appointment looking like Cara Delevingne. We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but that’s simply not going to happen.
However our stylists will work with you on a regrowth programme to achieve the perfect brow shape. In the meantime, you can fake it until your brows make it with make-up application, demonstrated by your stylist and use products from the HD Brow range including the revolutionary HD Brow Lash & Brow Booster to encourage hair growth.
How many HD Brows treatments do I need?
The amount of treatments you will need to achieve your desired shape will completely depends on the amount of hair you have to begin with. Your HD Brows stylist will be able to advise how many treatments they recommend to give you the brows you eventually want during your first consultation.
However, we ask that you give your stylist something to work with and to help do this we strongly recommend not doing anything to your brows for as long as possible in the run up to your appointment, preferably 4-6 weeks prior.
The more we have to work with, the better results you will achieve.
What’s an HD Brows Re-growth programme?
For some, the perfect brows might just be one treatment away. However those with sparse or over-plucked brows may need to be put on a re-growth programme. Your stylist will educate you on the areas needed to grow in so the shape can be improved at each appointment. You’ll also be educated on the best HD Brow make up to use on any gaps in your brows until your dream brow shape has been created.
Why choose HD Brows?
When you choose an HD Brows stylist, you know you’re in safe hands. Our stylists have attended an intensive training course and know everything there is to know about brows.
We understand that perfect brows might not be created in one appointment. This is why HD Brows stylist will put together a re-growth programme with your ideal eyebrow shape in mind.
Your stylist can tailor the treatment to meet your needs with HD Brows Express. Whether it’s threading to tidy up fast re-growth or a wax and tint when you’re short on time, there’s always a solution to your eyebrow dilemma.
Aftercare
Your stylist will finish the treatment with some aftercare advice to help you maintain your results, along with some product recommendations. This is especially important if you’re on a re-growth programme, working towards your dream brows.
- Avoid getting the brows wet for at least 24 hours after treatment to allow the brow hairs to settle into their new position
- Avoid the use of astringent cleansers, micellar water, facial wipes and exfoliators around the brow
- Avoid the use of sunbeds, saunas or swimming pools for at least 24 hours after your treatment
- Do not apply self-tanning products to the eyebrow area.
- Avoid tweezing in between your treatments
- Use the recommend product aftercare to help prolong your results
The HIFU Anti-Ageing Face Lift treatment works by sending highly focused acoustic energy below the skin’s surface to cause cellular friction within the molecules, resulting in precise, target-point heating. The friction between these molecules produces heat and thermal injury at a focal point within the skin tissue to create thermal coagulation zones at 3 selected depths (1.5mm, 3.0mm and 4.5mm), leaving the skin’s surface unaffected.
Delivering this focused ultra-sonic energy to the dermal tissue, it causes immediate trauma to the treatment zone which then promotes heating, immediate contraction and collagen stimulation – Collagen is the protein in the skin that’s responsible for its elasticity and structure. The healing process works over approximately 180 days, stimulating long-term tissue repair leading to further lifting and tightening.
The SMAS layer (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) is the layer that sits between your muscle and your fat layer and is the actual area a plastic surgeon would pull and tighten under a surgical operation using a knife. It is composed of collagen and elastin fibres, similar to those of the dermal tissue, and when treated, gives a long-lasting tightening effect.
