Electrolysis

Electrolysis permanent hair removal treatments now available at Create Your Beauty Watford.

We are very proud to announce new electrolysis treatments to our menu, from basic hair removal (permanently), to more advanced procedures such as treating spider veins, spider nevus to skin tag removal and more.

Electrolysis is currently the only clinically known permanent hair removal procedure, although many claim IPL/Laser does also permanently remove hair, however, at best both IPL and Laser only reduce hair growth.

Advantages of Electrolysis Treatment:

Compared to other hair removal methods:

  • It is less expensive than IPL or laser
  • It causes permanent destruction of the hair follicle, so results are excellent
  • It can be used on fine hair
  • Effective on light coloured hair
  • Ideal for facial hair e.g. chin, jawline, awkward hair on moles
  • Suitable for sensitive areas e.g. top lip

Disadvantages of Electrolysis Treatment:

  • Treatment tackles a hair follicle at a time, so can be slow
  • Treatment needs to be repeated in a course in order to tackle each follicle at the correct stage in its growth cycle
  • For larger areas i.e. body treatment, you may consider waxing

FAQs

A professional Electrologist skillfully inserts a sterile, disposable, micro fine electrolysis probe alongside the hair shaft within the hair follicle.  A small amount of heat energy is then very briefly applied through this miniscule electrolysis probe, which deactivates the hair root, dermal papilla, and hair germinating cells, without harming the surface skin.
Electrolysis can be uncomfortable for some, during your electrolysis treatment a tiny sterile needle is inserted into your hair follicles, then an electrical charge (micro-current) is released which heats up causing a slight tingle or stinging sensation.
Virtually any area, apart from the inside of the nose and inner ear, however, the rim of the ear can be safely treated.

Common areas for woman are facial areas, such as , the top lip, eyebrows, cheeks, chin, neck, underarms, breasts, abdomen, bikini line, legs, fingers or toes.

Common areas for men include around the ears, top of the nose, eyebrows, cheeks above the beard line or around the edges of the beard, top of the back, top of arms, or any other areas or concern or where ingrown hairs are causing problems.

Transgender/transsexual females often require full beard removal, some chest hair removal and pre-surgery genital hair removal for sex reassignment surgery (SRS).

Treatment courses are tailored to each clients’ needs.  Many factors determine the number and length of treatments needed.  Some of these may include the condition of the skin to be treated, the sensitivity of the skin, the number of follicles involved, previous hair removal methods used, hair growth cycles, heredity, hormone function, certain medication and also stress can all influence the number of treatments needed for each individual.  It is important to keep to your treatment schedule as advised by your Electrologist.
